Synopsis:

All Things Considered is a satirical historical face that critiques the fallacy of justifying missteps by pointing to worse incidents from the past. The play follows three frantic White House consultants as they attempt to defend a fictional president's behavior by presenting a "history lesson" filled with presidential blunders -- from Andrew Jackson's foul mouthed parrot to Taft's infamous bathtub mishap. Through absurd humor and sharp dialogue, the show exposes the flawed logic of excusing current problems simply because history has seen worse, ultimately challenging audiences to rethink the standards by which we judge our leaders.

Characters:

LESLIE: A driven press secretary who often assumes the role of the team leader. Leslie is intensely focused on delivering a polished presentation to the audience and defending the administration's actions — no matter how ridiculous. She is frequently exasperated by Jordan's reluctance and Avery's chaos, but she also shows flashes of vulnerability when her authority is questioned. Leslie thrives on control, structure, and clear messaging, though she's willing to bend history for the sake of spin.

JORDAN: The most skeptical and emotionally layered of the trio, Jordan oscillates between biting sarcasm and sincere disillusionment with her role in the administration. Jordan’s strained relationship with her ex bleeds into her performance, leading to emotional outbursts, accidental honesty, and moments of rebellion against the carefully constructed narrative. Though clever and capable, Jordan is increasingly disillusioned and questions whether defending a flawed administration is worth the cost. She provides a grounding counterbalance to Leslie’s spin and Avery’s absurdity.

AVERY: The comic wildcard. Avery brings chaotic, childlike energy to the team — eager to please, easily distracted, and constantly veering off-script. She plays multiple characters throughout the historical reenactments, and often acts as a peacekeeper between Leslie and Jordan, albeit in hilariously unhelpful ways. Avery has a good heart and a short attention span, but is also surprisingly insightful in emotionally charged moments. Her blend of sincerity and silliness makes her endearing and unpredictable. (This role has been pre-cast).
